Corporate Accountant
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Understand full cycle expense accounting
- Maintains company processes for Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable
- Aids in workflow steps for Resident Charges, Credits Requests, Lease Charges, Renewals, New Leases
- Aids in workflow steps for Invoices and Purchase Orders
- Identifies trends and deficiencies in processes to improve them
- Collaborates with Property Accountants to reconcile revenue within the financials
- Collaborates with Property Managers to reconcile and resolve resident ledgers & AP issues
- Aids in security deposit refund processes
- Completes AR audits on balance sheets and general ledgers
- Aids in Monthly and Quarterly workbooks for bonuses and incentives
- Performs month end A/R and GL closing procedures
- Prepares and reviews journal entries and reclass entries
- Reconciles bank activity on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
- Involves in annual budgeting process and inputs budgets into accounting software
- Liaises with the Property Accountants and PMs regarding financial statement reviews
- Other duties as assigned from time to time, by Controllers and Managers
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
- Two years of Commercial Accounting experience
- Proficiency in Yardi (preferred)
- Good oral and written communications skills
