About the role
The Coordinator of Undergraduate Student Recruitment is the initial contact for students interested in pursuing an undergraduate major in the Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. This role educates prospective students and families about opportunities at the University of Arkansas, specifically within Bumpers College, and plans both on- and off-campus recruitment events.
Overnight travel is required, including travel across Arkansas and nationally. This position also requires working occasional weekends and evenings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a pool of prospective students for Bumpers College.
- Plan and implement effective recruitment strategies and events using market research and trend analysis.
- Develop initiatives to promote a student body that reflects the state’s college-bound population.
- Represent the university and college at recruitment events both on- and off-campus, including in-state and out-of-state events.
- Design and coordinate recruitment events on behalf of Bumpers College.
- Act as liaison to the Office of Admissions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by Admissions and Bumpers College.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- At least one year of experience in academic recruiting, enrollment services, academic advising, or related transferable experience in education or industry relevant to Bumpers College programs.
- Proven organizational skills, including prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, planning events, and creative thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form, including presenting to large audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability and willingness to travel (up to 50% of the job).
- Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance.
- Ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
- At least two years of experience in academic recruiting, enrollment services, or academic advising.
- At least one year of experience as an admissions counselor, student ambassador, or orientation leader.
- Knowledge or experience within the various programs of Bumpers College.
- Knowledge of university and admissions office procedures and policies.

Schedule
Day Shift (United States of America). Occasional weekend and evening work required.
