About the role
The Medical Staff Office Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and performing credentialing tasks for the Medical Staff Services office. Duties include physician and advanced practice provider health credentialing and re-credentialing, managing meetings, and ensuring smooth communication between medical staff committees and the Medical Staff Executive Committee.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee credentialing tasks for the Medical Staff Services office
- Prepare and manage medical staff education regarding accreditation standards
- Assist with DNV and other survey preparation for medical staff and leadership functions
- Work closely with medical staff leaders, hospital administration, and legal counsel on medical staff and bylaws issues
- Handle confidential information professionally and appropriately
- Coordinate numerous activities related to credentialing and office management
Requirements
- Associate's degree in business or health-related field required or equivalent knowledge obtained through any combination of education, training, and experience preferred
- Experience in executive correspondence preparation and report writing within a healthcare environment preferred
- Experience in office management, preferably in a health-related field, with 5 years of experience
- Experience with physician relations and professional experience in working with executives, medical staff leaders, board members, and others
Qualifications
- Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule as needed
- Must possess good public relations, interpersonal, and organizational skills and be attentive to details
- Able to manage multiple projects independently
- Maintain confidentiality due to access to highly sensitive and confidential information and meetings
- Knowledge of various databases used in credentialing, including National Practitioner Data Base, OIG, SAMS, Certificate and State Licensing Boards
- Computer experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office products, virtual meeting tools and services, and internet navigation required

- Excellent organizational and communication skills

- Knowledge of various databases used in credentialing
