Responsibilities

• Works with the administrative liaison and Magnet counselor(s) to ensure students are scheduled in classes that meet Magnet Program requirements.
• Maintains open communication with parents in areas such as student academic success, attendance, job shadowing, special events, family nights, and other related areas.
• Keeps up to date on new teaching/learning trends and develops teacher capacity through in-service training and professional development.
• Participates in recruitment activities to foster interest and application to the program by a diverse population.
• Facilitates collaborative planning within the department and coordinates with administration and the ASP office to develop and implement Magnet Program criteria and protocols.
• Maintains data and documentation on multiple aspects of the magnet program.
• Performs other related duties as assigned within the same classification or lower.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field of education from a regionally accredited college or university required.
• Experience: Three (3) years successful classroom teaching experience required.
