About the Role

Lone Star College-Tomball offers a wide range of academic and workforce programs and is a leading college in the health sciences. LSC-Tomball is the founding college of the lifePATH® program, a four-year degree for adults with cognitive disabilities. The campus enjoys a joint library partnership with Harris County Public Library and offers an early college high school with the Tomball Independent School District.

The Coordinator II, Budget and Expense works under limited supervision and on own initiative, providing oversight and facilitation of day-to-day and some long-term operations within the assigned area of specialty. This role participates in and leads planning, development, evaluation, and improvement while maintaining compliance with LSC policies and procedures. The position serves as the Subject Matter Expert in the Travel & Expense module, including all related processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily and some long-term operations of assigned area; maintains up-to-date knowledge and acts as Subject Matter Expert within the area and as a point of contact for internal constituents.
  • Performs research, develops, monitors, and maintains data; analyzes results and makes recommendations within the area of specialty.
  • Serves as the Prepay Auditor for the assigned campus and as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Travel & Expense module, providing direction, guidance, and oversight to campus faculty and staff.
  • Develops training materials for the Travel and Expense module, including LSC policies, best practices, and campus-specific needs; presents training to all levels of campus personnel.
  • Utilizes queries and data to generate reports for campus budget managers to ensure expenses are posting properly on a monthly basis.
  • Provides instruction and direction to campus personnel on Travel and Procurement Card processes, including monthly and year-end specific processes.
  • May assist with Declining Balance Card applications, processing, and training for campus faculty and staff.
  • Conducts testing, analysis, and feedback during Travel & Expense module upgrades; may assist the module owner in developing and updating test scripts for implementations.
  • Supervises, trains, and develops staff.
  • Takes part in and/or leads special projects as needed.
  • Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Schedule and Conditions

  • Equipment used includes PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment.
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office and/or laboratory environment with exposure to safety hazards typical in a laboratory (working with chemicals, live specimens, moving equipment, etc.).
  • Safety protocol must be strictly followed at all times.

Pay

Hiring salary range is $44,793 - $51,512. Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
