About the Role
The Coordinator, Student Care Services addresses the needs of students experiencing difficulties related to mental health, physical health, psycho-social adjustment, personal and family emergencies, financial challenges, or those needing general assistance. This role provides guidance to help students navigate campus resources while prioritizing student well-being and academic success. Responsibilities
- Serves as a resource on student social/emotional development regarding interactions with students, faculty, and staff.
- Provides care services to students, including formulating intervention plans, facilitating communication, and follow-up.
- Maintains relationships with staff and external agencies to coordinate care services through advocacy and referrals.
- Collaborates with campus departments to build processes related to care services, improving efficiencies and awareness.
- Maintains and disseminates an accurate directory of community resources available to students.
- Oversees the withdrawal request process for extenuating circumstances.
- Develops, implements, and evaluates programs to promote Student Care Services and educate the campus community.
- Maintains accurate case records, provides monthly reports, and assists in preparing the Annual Report.
- Interprets University policy regarding students and recommends necessary updates.
- Assists with the development of departmental goals, strategies, operations, and procedures.
- Assists with department projects and initiatives.
- Serves on campus committees as assigned.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Applicants will be evaluated for either Coordinator, Student Care Services Level I or Level II based on qualifications:
- Level I: Requires either six years of directly related full-time experience or a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Level II: Requires either eight years of directly related full-time experience or a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field and four years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Experience with personal computers using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

- Knowledge of mental health and wellness issues in the college student population.
- Knowledge of assessment, risk management, and violence prevention strategies in a university setting.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within deadlines.
- Ability to operate personal computers with proficiency and learn new applications and systems.
- Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs/services.
- Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
- Ability to interact professionally with staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems, draw valid conclusions, and develop appropriate alternatives.
