Coordinator I, Student Services
Purpose and Scope
The Coordinator I, Student Services works in collaboration with the Director/Program Manager, Student Activities/Student Services for Lone Star College, which includes student activities, student organizations, community service, sports club programs, and student lounge.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversees daily and some long-term operations of assigned area;
- Actively maintains up-to-date knowledge of area and acts as Subject Matter Expert and general point of contact within the area of specialty;
- Creates and submits a variety of reports related to assigned department;
- Performs research and analysis to assist with preparation and presentation of findings;
- Makes presentations at various levels both internally and externally;
- Coordinates the day to day operations of the student lounge;
- Affords assistance with evaluation of programs and makes recommendations for revisions to processes and procedures, with a focus on continuous departmental/process improvement;
- Coordinates and manages various department and management calendars and schedules;
- Affords assistance with planning, scheduling, and coordinating various meetings/seminars/events, including site selection and preparation, marketing and training materials, and general support;
- Maintains and monitors budget expenditures of student organizations and recreational sports;
- Collaborates with internal and external groups to coordinate all aspects of various student organizational activities and recreational events. May include travel with the organization for events, meetings, training, and/or conferences;
- Takes part in and/or leads special projects as needed;
- Serves as a Sponsor for the Student Activities Board and Co-Sponsor for the Student Government Association, providing guidance to student leaders, supporting navigation of institutional processes, ensuring adherence to each organization's constitution, and mediating internal conflicts as needed;
- Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Physical Abilities
The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Schedule And Conditions
- Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment;
- Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position;
- Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Bachelor's degree preferred.

Salary
Hiring salary range is $38,761 - $44,576. Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
