About the Role

As a member of the New York Recruiting team, the Coordinator, Consultant Recruiting will support the administration, planning, and execution of recruiting programs for consulting staff. This role will assist across Summer Associate, Consultant, Advanced Degree, Industry Hire, and other consultant recruiting efforts, with a focus on delivering an exceptional candidate, interviewer, and stakeholder experience.

The Coordinator will report to the Manager, Consultant Recruiting and partner closely with consulting staff, recruiting colleagues across Bain offices, candidates, school career services teams, Bain alumni, and the New York HR team.

Where You’ll Fit Within the Team

The Coordinator, Consultant Recruiting is a member of the New York Recruiting team and plays a key role in supporting Bain’s consultant recruiting strategy. This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, judgment, and follow-through, as well as the ability to work across a broad range of stakeholders in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Consultant Recruiting Program Management
    • Support the execution of Bain’s recruiting strategy across targeted business schools and other recruiting channels, including on-campus, in-office, and virtual recruiting efforts.
    • Help develop and maintain the annual recruiting calendar in partnership with the recruiting team, regional Bain contacts, school teams, and career services offices.
    • Coordinate formal and informal recruiting events, including presentations, receptions, dinners, happy hours, coffee chats, interview preparation sessions, and other candidate engagement activities.
    • Work closely with school teams, consultant resource teams, Bain alumni, and recruiting colleagues to ensure recruiting events, communications, and candidate touchpoints are well planned and executed.
    • Partner with recruiting colleagues across offices to coordinate coverage for joint marketing and interviewing events, share best practices, and support regional recruiting priorities.
  • Candidate Selection & Interview Coordination
    • Assist with the candidate selection process by preparing materials, coordinating resume review inputs, compiling recommendations, and supporting final interview decision processes.
    • Act as a liaison for candidates throughout the interview process, providing timely, accurate, and professional communication.
    • Schedule students, candidates, and interviewers for interview days, whether in person or virtually.
    • Prepare interview logistics, interviewer schedules, candidate materials, debrief materials, and follow-up communications.
    • Maintain accurate candidate data and decisions in Bain’s recruiting systems, including Avature and other internal tools.
    • Provide exceptional support to consulting staff involved in recruiting, including coordinating interviewer commitments, communicating logistics, helping manage deadlines, and supporting interview training needs.
  • Candidate Relationship Management & Communications
    • Draft, review, and send communications and correspondence with candidates throughout the recruiting cycle.
    • Maintain incoming inquiries, applications, and candidate tracking materials, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
    • Support relationship management efforts by helping identify priority recruits and facilitating connections between candidates and Bain employees.
    • Serve as a professional and enthusiastic representative of Bain to prospective candidates, school contacts, alumni, and internal stakeholders.
  • Offeree & Internship Program Support
    • Help plan and execute Consultant and Summer Associate offeree programming, including offeree weekends and other offer-stage events.
    • Coordinate logistics, attend events as needed, interact with offerees, and ensure activities run smoothly.
    • Support the Consultant Summer Associate internship program, including summer calendar creation, training coordination, social event planning, and ongoing program logistics.
    • Assist with calendar creation and event planning throughout the internship program.
    • Support the closing process for offerees and interns in partnership with the recruiting team and consulting staff.
  • Recruiting Program Ownership & Special Initiatives
    • Support program logistics for Advanced Degree, pre-MBA, diversity, and other strategic recruiting programs, as applicable.
    • Coordinate training, colleague and mentor assignments, social events, staffing needs, final presentation scheduling, candidate communications, and program close-out activities.
    • Help manage consultant resource teams that partner closely with the recruiting team, including planning meetings, updating internal trackers, and ensuring team members are aligned on candidate status, upcoming events, deadlines, and responsibilities.
    • Identify opportunities to improve local recruiting processes and contribute to team innovations and best practices.
  • Recruiting Strategy, Analytics & Reporting
    • Help evaluate the success of each recruiting season by gathering and analyzing recruiting data, including results by school, source, event, and candidate pool.
    • Prepare recruiting statistics, reports, and presentations as needed.
    • Use data and post-season insights to help inform future recruiting programs, events, and strategy.
    • Support special projects related to recruiting strategy, process improvement, candidate experience, and team operations.
  • Recruiting Operations, Budget & Systems
    • Help manage consultant recruiting budgets by supporting event planning, expense tracking, invoice processing, and budget reporting.
    • Flag budget issues or inconsistencies and support special budget projects as needed.
    • Own timely and accurate updates to recruiting systems and trackers for data entry, event management, candidate tracking, and reporting.
    • Coordinate administrative duties related to consultant recruiting programs, events, interviews, and team operations.
  • Onboarding & Administrative Support
    • Work with the New York HR team to support the new hire onboarding process, including new hire tracking, start date coordination, colleague selection and distribution, staffing preparation materials, and related logistics.
    • Support other administrative duties and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years of experience in administrative support, recruiting, human resources, event planning, project coordination, or related professional experience.
  • Prior recruiting experience, particularly in a professional services environment, is preferred.
  • Experience coordinating complex logistics, events, stakeholders, calendars, and communications is strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to represent Bain professionally with candidates, school contacts, alumni, consulting staff, and senior leaders.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy.
  • Strong project management skills and comfort coordinating a high volume of time-sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to work independently while also operating as a collaborative and flexible team player.
  • Comfort working with a diverse group of individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify practical, creative solutions.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with initiative, sound judgment, and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, HRIS, recruiting systems, and database tools.
  • Experience with ChatGPT, Claude, or similar programs preferred.
  • Flexibility with hours, including the ability to work evenings, occasional weekends, and overtime during peak recruiting periods.
  • Ability to travel during peak recruiting season as needed.

Work Model

This role is based in the New York office. Team members typically work from the office at least three days per week, with flexibility to increase in-office presence during peak recruitment periods, events, interviews, or other business needs.

Pay

Compensation for this role includes base salary, annual discretionary performance bonus, 401(k) plan with an annual employer contribution based on years of service, and Bain’s comprehensive benefits package.

In New York, the good-faith, reasonable full-time hourly pay range for this role is between $31.85/hour and $38.22/hour.
