About the role

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our Culinary Department at Northbrook Inn. You enjoy providing outstanding service and producing high‑quality nutrition, and you will be responsible for preparing and serving attractive, tasty meals for the community.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food is prepared in a nutritional, appetizing fashion, and presented attractively per the menu and schedule.
• Properly store, date, and rotate food according to food‑handling guidelines.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Follow the kitchen cleaning schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completed an approved Dietary Manager’s Course or possess a ServSafe Food Handler’s certificate (candidates without ServSafe may be considered if they obtain the certificate within the first 30 days of employment).
• All state‑required food‑handler certification requirements.
• Knowledge of food preparation, production, and plate presentation.
• Must be drug‑free and agree to drug screening upon hire and routinely.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire and as required by state regulations.
• Knowledge of special dietary needs.

Pay

Earn between $20 and $21 per hour, dependent on experience.

Schedule

Multiple shifts available: Sunday – Tuesday, 6 AM – 2 PM.
