Cook Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
- Follow therapeutic and modified diets as directed by the Dietary Department.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Properly store, label, and rotate food items.
- Assist with food preparation, meal service, and kitchen cleanup.
- Monitor food quality, temperatures, and portion control.
- Work collaboratively with the dietary team to ensure timely meal service.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, hospital, or commercial kitchen preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices.
- Ability to prepare meals in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
- Reliable, organized, and able to work as part of a team.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Food Handler's Certification is a plus.
