About the role

As a member of the MetroHealth System’s Dining Services team, you will support patients and caregivers by preparing and serving restaurant-quality meals in their state-of-the-art facility.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of cooking and food preparation tasks to ensure quality food for patients/customers.
  • Prepare and serve meals in a high-volume, high-quantity setting.
  • Understand and apply basic food preparation and cooking methods.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding menu options.
  • Perform simple mathematical calculations related to cooking measurements.

Requirements

  • Possess a Level Two Person in Charge Food Protection Certification from an Ohio Department of Health approved issuing body (i.e. ServSafe, etc.) or obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • One year of experience in high-volume food service and/or high-quantity food production cooking.
  • Basic understanding of therapeutic diet plans.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an accepted culinary certification or proof of completing culinary coursework.
  • Basic understanding of therapeutic diet plans.

Physical Requirements

  • Sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
  • Sit or stand for extended periods.
  • See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • Able to climb intermittently during the day.
  • Able to push/pull/lift 100-300 pounds.
  • Able to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
  • Exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
  • Exposure to warm and cold temperatures.

Pay

Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Biweekly, 80.00 hours per week, rotating shifts from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, including weekends and holidays.
