About the Role
The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, modeling a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
- Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests and strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about patient medical conditions, status, treatment plans, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translate complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
- Teach patients, families, and caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes.
- Prepare patients and families/caregivers for future self-management.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Registered Nurse Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor's Degree
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
