Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day accounting and financial control activities.
- Manage the general ledger, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
- Monitor compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations.
- Coincide with external audits and work with auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners.
- Analyze financial performance and provide reporting and recommendations to the CFO.
- Partner with leadership and operational teams to improve financial processes and reporting.
- Help ensure accurate accounting for trading activity, settlements, and related financial transactions.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Controller role or long-term progressive Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager role.
- Experience in oil and gas, energy trading, commodities, or a closely related industry is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
About the Role
This role reports directly to the CFO and will be entrusted with full financial controller responsibilities, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic financial oversight.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting principles.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in accounting systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Excel.
- CPA or CMA designation is a plus.
