Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly close process from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met, reconciliations are completed, and the accounting records are finalized accurately.
  • Maintain oversight of the general ledger and support day-to-day accounting activity across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Prepare and record journal entries related to recurring and non-routine activity, including amortization, depreciation, and other period-end adjustments.
  • Monitor adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures to support audit readiness, policy compliance, and reliable financial reporting.
  • Manage the master trial balance within a 4-4-5 accounting calendar and ensure balances are properly supported throughout each reporting period.
  • Research account variances and unusual transactions, resolve accounting issues, and respond to technical questions from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and organizational reporting requirements.
  • Apply percentage-of-completion accounting principles where appropriate and provide financial analysis to support business decision-making.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including responsibility for month-end close and financial reporting.
  • Prior experience in a Controller, Accounting Manager, or similarly senior accounting leadership capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit support activities.
  • Experience overseeing multiple functional areas such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Familiarity with 4-4-5 accounting calendars and percentage-of-completion accounting methods.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements and maintain compliance with established accounting controls and reporting standards.
  • Industry experience within software, technology, or services environments is preferred.
