Controller
Job Description
Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
Prepare and analyze monthly and annual financial statements.
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
Develop, maintain, and improve internal accounting controls and financial procedures.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and other financial reporting requirements.
Cook up with external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other financial partners.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased operational efficiency.
Support strategic planning initiatives and provide financial guidance to company leadership.
Lead and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CPA designation strongly preferred
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Prior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership role
- Experience within construction, commercial interiors, project-based services, or a related industry is preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Experience with NetSuite
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
