Control Systems Engineer II
About the role
As a Controls Systems Engineer II based in Rochester, USA, you will play a vital role in driving operational excellence and innovation across our manufacturing environment. You will contribute by designing, developing, and maintaining industrial control systems (e.g., PLC, DCS, SCADA) to support manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues to minimize downtime and improve plant performance
- Lead and support automation projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new installations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all control system activities
- Analyze process data and implement optimization strategies to enhance efficiency and reliability
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standards, and procedures for control systems
- Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities as required
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in industrial automation or process control
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, DCS, and/or SCADA systems
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical concepts clearly
- Knowledge of process safety standards and regulatory compliance in a manufacturing environment
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to decide and drive outcomes
Compensation & Benefits
The expected salary range for this role is $74 000-$96 000, but specific employee compensation may vary depending on factors including experience, education, training, licensure, certification, location and other job-related, non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. This role is also eligible to earn a short-term incentive bonus and the following benefits: 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, paid time off, paid holidays and paid sick leave.
