Contracts Counsel
About the role
This is a remote position supporting the Corporate Legal Department by drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering commercial agreements while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. The role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders to provide practical legal guidance on routine contractual matters.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, revise, and negotiate commercial agreements
- Support contract intake, review, execution, and tracking processes
- Identify contractual risks and recommend practical solutions
- Conduct legal research and assist with compliance initiatives
- Develop and maintain contract templates and playbooks
- Support dispute resolution, governance matters, and diligence activities
Requirements
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active bar membership in good standing
- Minimum 3 years of experience with commercial contracts, healthcare, technology, or corporate law
- Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment
Remote position with quarterly onsite Legal Department meetings. Travel is generally less than 5%.
Pay
CorVel uses a market-based approach to pay, with salary ranges varying by location and factors such as federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. The pay range for this role is $138,915 – $180,428.85. For leveled roles, new hires may be slotted into a different level based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit, which may impact the salary range.
