Contract Manager
Position Summary
The Contract Manager oversees the full lifecycle of contracts supporting our construction and operations teams. This role serves as the primary resource for contract administration, contract negotiation, risk management, compliance oversight, claims support, and legal coordination across the organization.
Position Responsibilities
Draft, review, negotiate, and administer a variety of construction and commercial agreements, including: Prime Contracts, Subcontracts, AIA Agreements, Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Vendor and Supplier Agreements, Consulting Agreements, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs/MNDAs), Change Orders and Amendments, Terms and Conditions, Purchase orders, and other project-specific and commercial agreements.
Evaluate contractual terms and conditions to ensure alignment with company objectives, risk tolerance, and project requirements. Lead contract review and redlining processes while coordinating approvals with internal stakeholders and external parties.
Serve as a subject matter expert on contractual obligations, rights, and risk allocation. Manage the complete contract lifecycle, including intake, drafting, negotiation, execution, implementation, monitoring, amendments, renewals, and closeout.
Track contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones, renewals, insurance requirements, notices, and key dates. Ensure timely execution and proper documentation of all contract activities. Monitor contract performance and support resolution of contractual issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual, operational, and financial risks. Recommend risk mitigation strategies and escalate significant concerns to management or legal counsel as appropriate. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, customer requirements, and company policies. Support subcontractor compliance activities, including insurance verification, and contractual documentation.
Participate in internal and external audits and compliance reviews. Support contract-related claims management, dispute resolution, and issue escalation efforts. Coordinate documentation and communications related to claims, requests for equitable adjustment, change management, and contract disputes. Partner with outside counsel and internal stakeholders regarding litigation, arbitration, mediation, subpoenas, and other legal proceedings. Maintain legal files, supporting documentation, and records related to claims and litigation matters. Assist with document collection, discovery requests, legal summaries, and litigation readiness activities.
Administer and maintain the company's Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform, contract database, and document management systems. Ensure accuracy of contract records, reporting, and document retention practices. Maintain and update contract templates, standard terms and conditions, playbooks, and form libraries. Generate reports, dashboards, and contract metrics to support leadership decision-making. Ensure all contract files are organized, accessible, and audit-ready.
Develop and implement best practices for contract administration and contract governance. Continuously improve contract workflows, approval processes, templates, and risk management procedures. Support implementation and optimization of contract management systems and technologies. Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, improve compliance, and reduce organizational risk.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Training. Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters across Operations, Procurement, Finance, Accounting, Project Management, Compliance, and Legal functions. Provide guidance and training regarding contract requirements, obligations, and best practices. Collaborate directly with customers, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and business partners to facilitate contract execution and issue resolution. Support strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Experience negotiating and administering construction, engineering, infrastructure, industrial, or commercial contracts. Demonstrated knowledge of contract lifecycle management, contract negotiation, and risk assessment principles. Experience managing contract databases, document management systems, and CLM software platforms. Strong understanding of legal documentation, contractual risk allocation, and compliance requirements. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex contractual matters with minimal supervision. Experience 8 + years of experience in contract administration, procurement, or legal support roles. Education/Certification: A Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred. Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs. Ability to lift over 25 pounds, climb ladders and navigate a construction site. Reports To: Turnkey Operations Manager.
