About the role
This position reports to the Distribution Construction Supervisor and is responsible for contract crews performing overhead/underground new construction, maintenance, trouble calls, and storm response. The role involves coordinating contract resources to ensure the achievement of safety, budgetary, productivity, and quality goals.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate contract resources to ensure safety, budgetary needs, productivity, and quality goals are met.
- Manage scheduling, planning, and attend pre-construction meetings.
- Oversee quality control, inventory management, and the closing out of assigned projects.
- Communicate with Engineering and other departments, internal and external customers, builders, developers, and electricians.
- Ensure safety of service crews and monitor their performance.
- Manage overhead re-conducting and cable replacement projects.
- Be available for storm duty and work an alternate schedule as required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- Seven years of Distribution experience, including extensive knowledge of distribution engineering and construction, maintenance, and both overhead and underground construction.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to analyze drawings, blueprints, specifications, proposals, and project documentation.
- Experience with Distribution Viewer, ARMS, CSS, TCMS, and JETS is preferred.

- Ability to manage contractors, learn and enforce contracts, and demonstrate proven negotiation skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with customers, developers, builders, and communication companies.
- Capacity to motivate and influence others to complete work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects over a large territory, schedule and prioritize work, and set clear expectations to deliver results within deadlines.
- Ability to solve problems, remove barriers, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven decision-making abilities and a record of demonstrated safety excellence.
