Contract Analyst

About the role

The Contract Analyst I will monitor and analyze trends within contract purchases to identify and target opportunities to reduce operating expenses related to med/surgical products, goods, services, and/or equipment purchased by the organization.

The Contract Analyst I develops, modifies, and monitors contract processing procedures and activities, reviews contract requests and proposals, and serves as a liaison between departmental staff, vendors, Legal department, and Supply Chain leadership team.

This position supports the item file function and is responsible for the Daily Exception Report for the department. The Contract Analyst I maintains a current knowledge of available information databases and emerging tools and technology that best support procurement initiatives.

The Contract Analyst I oversees the maintenance of the HEMM Contract Module and is responsible for the implementation and compliance monitoring of all contracts for goods and services.

The Contract Analyst I may provide support through statistics, data, and contracting information to both the Surgical Value Analysis and Hospital Value Analysis committees, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and analyze complex processes with proficiency in computer software programs and databases, data mining, and extrapolation skills.
• Utilize benchmarking tools to evaluate, compare, and contract pricing on non-stock and stock items.
• Analyze usage of supplies, equipment, and services throughout assigned departments.
• Review and interpret analytical data generated via various data systems and act upon opportunities as they are presented.
• Use all resources available to source product and benchmark vendor offers.
• Support the function of web-based contract analytics tools for the department, such as GPO portals and the AtlantiCare Legal department system, Ntracts.
• Demonstrate effective communication, negotiation, and critical reasoning skills.
• Perform intermediate to advanced financial calculations and spreadsheet navigation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Healthcare, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
• CMRP certification preferred.
• Solid experience in a variety of software programs; expert knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Office required.
• 2 years of analytics experience preferred.
• Purchasing experience preferred.
• Experience with Supply Chain Information Systems preferred.
