Acquisition/Contract Analyst
Thompson Gray is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Acquisition/Contract Analyst to join our team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of federal contracting regulations, policies, and procedures, with a sharp focus on compliance and effective contract management. This role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to deliver efficient, compliant, and timely contracting support across the full acquisition lifecycle - from planning through contract closeout.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, development, and execution of contracts in support of federal acquisition programs.
- Ensure all contracts fully comply with federal regulations, including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Review and analyze acquisition documents for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
- Support contract negotiations, modifications, and amendments as needed.
- Track and monitor contract deliverables, timelines, and performance to ensure all obligations are met.
- Provide expert guidance to project teams and stakeholders on contracting processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with contracting officers, program managers, and legal teams to resolve contract-related issues.
- Maintain accurate contract files and documentation in accordance with government requirements.
- Assist with contract closeout procedures, verifying that all obligations are satisfied and proper documentation is complete.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 10+ years of experience in federal acquisition and contract management, with deep knowledge of FAR and DFARS.
- Solid understanding of federal contracting fundamentals, including solicitation, award, contract types, and administration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Active Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or other federal agencies in contracting.
- Familiarity with procurement systems such as the System for Award Management (SAM) and Procurement Desktop-Defense (PD²).
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly GFEBS.
- Professional certification in federal contracting (e.g., DAWIA or FAC-C).
