Primary Objective

Manages content projects from concept through delivery, collaborating with strategic leaders and stakeholders to ensure content is accurate, timely, and aligned with strategic marketing and communication goals.

Oversees the content development process, managing the interactions necessary to produce quality content for marketing and communications initiatives.

Produces content for earned media, internal, and external communications.

Serves as a copy editor and proofreader to ensure that digital, web, and print publications meet established editorial, brand, and quality standards.

Essential Duties

  • Manages content projects from concept through delivery, collaborating with strategic leaders and stakeholders to ensure content is accurate, timely, and aligned with strategic marketing and communication goals.
  • Oversees the content development process, managing the interactions necessary to produce quality content for marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Produces content for earned media, internal, and external communications.
  • Serves as a copy editor and proofreader to ensure that digital, web, and print publications meet established editorial, brand, and quality standards.
  • Creates and manages content (including written copy, photos, and videos) for the website, social media platforms, and publications.
  • Supports the planning, promotion, and execution of public relations events and related communications activities.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in copywriting, content development, marketing communications, or related disciplines, preferably in an advertising agency, marketing, communications, or higher education environment.
  • Experience developing content for higher education, nonprofit, or similarly complex organizations preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current marketing, media, digital communications, and social media trends, including emerging content formats.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of content strategy and creation, including planning, developing, editing, and optimizing content across multiple channels and platforms.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency across multiple communications platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Ability to work effectively within a culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
