About the role
Nile Basin Discourse (NBD) is a network of Civil Society organizations established in 2003 with the support of the World Bank and other development partners. NBD is implementing the Nile Civil Society for Climate Resilience Project (P505581), funded by the Cooperation in International Waters in Africa (CIWA), a Trust Fund administered by the World Bank. The consulting services provided will support a program of citizen-led data generation and management in selected transboundary wetland areas of the Nile Basin.
Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive platform to support citizen data collection and utilization for decision-making in selected sites within the Nile Basin countries.
- Build capacities of selected stakeholders for data generation and engagement.
- Develop mechanisms for scaling up to other catchment areas.
Requirements
The successful candidate should have:
- Experience in data collection and management systems.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental and social issues in the Nile Basin.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working with civil society organizations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Social Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in data management and analysis.
- Experience in project management and implementation.
Skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with GIS software.
