Consultant Anaesthetist

Responsibilities
- Work with 4 other consultants in the Anaesthetics Department based in Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway
- Provide anaesthetic services in a modern Rural General Hospital (Plus) containing 85 inpatient beds and 16 day surgery beds
- Participate in the on-call rota (1:4 with prospective cover)
- Work 10 PAs per week plus up to a maximum of 2 EPAs per week, with an 8% availability allowance subject to an agreed job plan
Requirements
- Be on the GMC Specialist Register, with License to Practice, or be eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of the date of interview
- Full support provided for applicants working towards this
- Successful applicant required to register with the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme
Pay and benefits
- Salary £115,331 - £153,247 per annum
- Distant Island Allowance £1,461 per annum
- Up to £8,000 Relocation Expenses
- NHS Terms and Conditions of the New Consultant Grade (Scotland) 2004 apply
