Consultant Anaesthetist

About the role

This is an exciting chance to join our team of Consultants at NHS Western Isles. You will work with 4 other consultants in the Anaesthetics Department based in Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway, a modern Rural General Hospital.

The post is for 10 PAs per week plus up to a maximum of 2 EPAs per week and an 8% availability allowance subject to an agreed job plan. The on-call rota is 1:4 with prospective cover.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for providing anaesthetic care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the hospital. You will also be involved in the management of acute pain and critical care services.

Requirements

• Must be on the GMC Specialist Register, with License to Practice, or be eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of the date of interview.
• Full support will be provided in working towards the Specialist Register.
• Open to discussions regarding alternative working models such as on/off island arrangements, annualised arrangements, part-time and job share options.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will be fully supported in working towards the Specialist Register.

Pay

Salary range: £111,430 - £148,064 per annum plus Distant Island Allowance £1,461 per annum.

Schedule

Permanent Post, 40 hours per week.
