About the role
CARIAN is seeking a Construction Supervisor with strong field experience in transmission and distribution work, along with GIS or survey knowledge. This role supports a major transmission corridor program and focuses on daily field coordination during the survey and pre-construction phases.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily field oversight of survey and pre-construction activities along transmission right of way segments.
- Serve as the point of contact for survey crews, contractors, engineering teams, and utility stakeholders.
- Validate as-built conditions and ensure accurate data capture for the client's GIS and asset management systems.
- Conduct field walkdowns, review access routes, identify obstructions, and support resolution of field issues.
- Interpret drawings, survey plans, and environmental or land-use constraints.
- Support outage coordination, sequencing, and field readiness activities as assigned.
- Prepare daily field reports and communicate progress, risks, and constraints.
- Promote and uphold safety expectations consistent with utility and CARIAN standards.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in transmission, distribution, construction supervision, or utility field operations.
- Background as a lineman, construction supervisor, field inspector, or utility owner representative is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with GIS platforms or survey data capture tools.
- Able to verify field conditions and align them with engineering and GIS requirements.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly in the field with survey crews and contractors.
- Able to walk right of way, navigate terrain, and travel daily across the corridor.
- Valid driver license.
