About the role

This is an entry-level position responsible for pre-configuring equipment prior to shipment to customers. The role involves ensuring quality and consistency in accordance with documented instructions, validating equipment functionality, and preparing devices for deployment. Responsibilities

  • Follow specific written work instructions to provision and configure IT devices for deployment based on customer requirements.
  • Perform basic kitting of equipment according to customer specifications.
  • Unbox, re-box, and process equipment for shipping.
  • Clean, test, and inspect IT devices.
  • Escalate technical or other issues to your immediate supervisor.
  • Participate in internal departmental and project meetings.
  • Offer suggestions for improving processes and efficiencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Configuration Technician will consistently follow documented processes to maintain high-quality work and customer satisfaction while completing tasks in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience (preferred) or relevant training directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Valid Driver’s License with fewer than 6 points to adhere to insurance requirements.

While existing technical certifications are preferred, they are not required. The individual will be expected to pursue appropriate certifications as directed by their supervisor within the first year of employment.

Physical Requirements

  • Lifting (up to 60 lbs.), carrying, standing, bending, and transporting IT equipment 50% of the time.
  • Occasional use of basic tools (e.g., screwdriver), cleaning solutions, and tear-down/rebuild of IT components.
  • Ability to type, work from a computer monitor, and communicate effectively (written and verbal).
  • Ability to read and follow basic work instructions.

Pay

Salary Range: $16.50 – $17.50 per hour.
