Responsibilities
- Manage and control the configuration of complex engineering and manufacturing products through a PLM system.
- Audit and verify product configurations to ensure compliance with customer requirements, company standards, and industry regulations.
- Coordinate the preparation and documentation required for product structure and configuration management.
- Evaluate, implement, and track the life cycle of changes in the configuration change management process.
- Support the configuration change management process, including evaluating, implementing, and tracking the life cycle of changes.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure effective configuration control and resolve complex configuration issues.
- Maintain and manage detailed records and documentation related to configuration management activities.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance configuration management practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in configuration management or a related field within the aerospace and defense industry.
- Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
- Extensive experience with PLM tools such as PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter, or Dassault Systèmes ENOVIA preferred.
- Deep understanding of regulatory and industry standards related to configuration management preferred.
- Experience using Project Data Management (PDM)/PLM systems such as Windchill, Enovia 3Dxperience software, and CAD tools such as SOLIDWORKS, Creo, NX, ProEngineer, AutoCAD, CATIA, OrCad, Allegro preferred.
- Knowledge of industry-standard design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware and or electrical component selection, fabrication, manufacturing, and production processes preferred.
- Experience with AS 9100, ISO 9001, EIA-649, MIL-HDBK-61, IEEE 828 and/or Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) preferred.
- Ability to rapidly work on projects involving both small and large Engineering, Operations, and Program Management teams preferred.
- Skilled in product configuration definition and product structure development preferred.
- Ability to generate and maintain Product Structures compliant with all product line items required by various Engineering and Operations groups preferred.
