Concrete Inspector

About the role

KTA-Tator, Inc. (KTA) is seeking ACI and PCI Certified Technicians to inspect the fabrication of precast concrete and reinforced concrete pipe. The position involves traveling and working irregular or extended hours, particularly night shifts and weekends.

Responsibilities

- Test fresh concrete for air content, slump, and temperature. - Prepare and communicate reports related to construction conditions. - Conduct inspections of prestressed concrete, especially for transportation and bridge projects. - Ensure all paperwork is accurate and complete. - Develop and maintain healthy relationships with clients and contractors. - Communicate effectively and make sound decisions. - Work independently and as part of a team. - Maintain a reliable work ethic, punctuality, and dependability. - Travel and work in various locations within the Chesapeake Bay area, Michigan/northern Ohio, mid-Atlantic (PA/NJ/MD), and Maine.

Requirements

- High School Diploma or GED. - Ability to act with integrity and promote ethical practices. - Detail-oriented, ensuring all paperwork is accurate and complete. - Customer-oriented, developing and maintaining healthy relationships with clients and contractors. - Strong oral and written communication and decision-making skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Excellent work ethic, dependable, and punctual. - Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. - Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word and Excel experience, ability to navigate the internet and email correspondence.

Physical Requirements

- Hearing, speaking, close, color, distance, depth vision, and ability to adjust focus. - Ability to travel and work outside (including inclement weather). - Walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, crouching, standing for extended periods of time. - Working in confined spaces and on uneven terrain.
