About the role
KTA-Tator, Inc. (KTA) is seeking ACI and PCI Certified Technicians to inspect the fabrication of precast concrete and reinforced concrete pipe. The position involves traveling and working irregular or extended hours, including night shifts and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Test fresh concrete for air content, slump, and temperature.
- Prepare and communicate reports related to construction conditions.
- Conduct inspections of prestressed concrete, especially for transportation and bridge projects.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurate and complete.
- Develop and maintain healthy relationships with clients and contractors.
- Communicate effectively and make sound decisions.
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain a reliable work ethic, being punctual and dependable.
- Travel and work in various locations, including the Chesapeake Bay area, Michigan/northern Ohio, mid-Atlantic (PA/NJ/MD), and Maine.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to act with integrity and promote ethical practices.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word and Excel, internet navigation, and email correspondence.
- Physical requirements include hearing, speaking, close, color, distance, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus; ability to travel, work outside, and perform tasks in various environments.
Qualifications
- ACI Certified Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I.
- PCI Level II or III certification from the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute.
