Description of Duties

  • Supports the deployment and use of CONNECTIONS, a New York State (NYS) child welfare proprietary application.
  • Deliver instructor-led classroom-based and virtual classroom technology training to new and experienced child welfare workers.
  • Train users in local district offices and voluntary agencies in online, web-based, and lab-based settings.
  • Provide post-classroom support and technical assistance to users.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of system functionality as it is updated and modified.
  • Complete required reports and documentation as needed.
  • Aid in the development and revision of training materials, including content development, editing, proofreading, formatting, and document organization.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • A minimum of two years' full-time experience in technology-related training or training support experience for adult learners.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated proficiency with English language grammar/usage.
  • Ability to learn new software products and operating systems quickly.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work with a team, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
  • Demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their role.
  • Ability to work variable days and work hours and travel regularly throughout NYS to deliver training and attend meetings, including travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation.

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • Experience working in NYS Child Welfare or using the CONNECTIONS application.
  • Experience using synchronous online training platforms such as Webex or Teams to deliver training.
  • Experience developing, testing, or editing training materials.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $62,000-$64,500 (DOE)

Candidates selected for a final interview will be asked to prepare for and present a brief training presentation.
