Compliance Specialist I
About the Role
The Compliance Services Specialist I manages various transactional processes handled by the Compliance services team, including new vehicle paperwork and registration renewals. This role involves cultivating relationships with DMVs and trusted vendors, operating within external and internal systems, and ensuring fleet vehicles comply with legal licensing and registration requirements. Individuals may be assigned to one of the following working groups and must be flexible to reassignment based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Driver Fulfillment Center
- Print title, registration, and tax documents based on owner, state, and client or vehicle instructions.
- Assign ownership to ensure compliance with state and county statutes.
- Assemble files and complete assignments on Manufacturer’s Statement of Origin (MSO).
- Identify, analyze, and resolve state, county, and province license and title rejections or questions.
- Create, update, and adjust print positions on forms through Forms Definition.
- Order duplicate MSOs directly through manufacturer websites and follow up until received.
- Manage Salesforce cases related to new car papers, duplicate MSOs, and surplus assignments.
- Initial Registration
- Open files in the tracts system and validate requirements based on training documents and jurisdiction profiles.
- Manage Salesforce cases related to initial registration status, temp tag requests, and other inquiries.
- Update registrations and track and close transaction files in tracts and RRS.
- Manage the registration requirements inbox, ensuring correct format and accuracy.
- Create Salesforce cases for drivers, account managers, and other parties if requirements are inaccurate or expired.

- Clear and confident communication with dealers, tag agencies, government agencies, and clients.
- Strong customer service skills with diplomacy and tact.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks effectively.
- High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal documents.
- Excellent follow-up and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math skills for calculating complex tax documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and other Office software.
- Experience with web-based systems, databases, and internet navigation.
- Strong networking and negotiation skills for vendor cost and pricing.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, and demonstrates leadership qualities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate’s degree or coursework in business, legal studies, paralegal studies, operations, or a related field (preferred).
- Equivalent work experience in fleet operations, vehicle registration, title processing, or compliance may substitute for formal education.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, office-based position located in Schaumburg, Illinois, operating in a professional office environment. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday. Travel is not required.
Physical Demands
- Ability to speak, hear, and see, and use hands and fingers for computer and phone tasks.
- Capable of sitting or standing for extended periods.
- Ability to reach above head to pull paper attachments.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $37,500–$52,500. This role is eligible for participation in the annual incentive plan based on company and individual performance.
