About the role
A dedicated and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist LPN supporting Pennsylvania senior living communities in achieving and maintaining regulatory excellence. This pivotal role combines clinical expertise with compliance leadership, ensuring our communities meet all Pennsylvania Department of Human Services requirements under 55 Pa. Code Chapter 2600 for Personal Care Homes and related regulations as well as Arbor Company standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive, ongoing compliance audits across assigned Pennsylvania communities to ensure adherence to state regulations and company policies.
- Evaluates compliance across all major regulatory categories: Emergency preparedness and fire safety, Resident rights and protections, Care and services delivery, Medication administration and management, Physical site and safety standards, Food safety and nutrition, Human resources and staff training, Records and documentation, Quality management.
- Reviews required documentation such as fire drill records, emergency procedures, abuse reporting protocols, and quality management plans.
- Identifies areas of non-compliance and develops actionable corrective action plans while maintaining detailed audit documentation and tracking remediation progress.
- Prepares communities for state surveys through mock inspections and readiness assessments.
- Analyzes audit findings to identify trends and recommend systemic improvements in collaboration with Arbor Discipline Leaders across all departments.
Required Qualifications
- Community-based position with an office within a home-community. Rotational travel/audits to all Pennsylvania properties is required.
- Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in good standing.
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience in senior living, personal care homes, or healthcare settings.
- May occasionally support communities in absence of a Resident Care Director or Memory Care Director for limited periods.
- Demonstrated expertise in Pennsylvania senior living regulations, particularly 55 Pa. Code Chapter 2600.
- Proven experience in compliance auditing, quality assurance, or regulatory affairs.
- Strong knowledge of medication management protocols and oversight requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel to multiple Pennsylvania communities as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record systems.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Compliance with all Arbor company-wide job requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field.
- Previous experience as a Compliance Officer, Quality Assurance Nurse, or similar role.
- Certification in healthcare compliance (CHC) or quality management.
- Experience conducting state survey preparation and mock inspections.
- Background in developing and delivering staff training programs.
- Familiarity with secured dementia care unit regulations and specialized memory care programming.
- Experience with quality management plan development and implementation.
- Medication Administration Train the Trainer certification to conduct Med Pass Observations for PA preferred at hire but may be obtain after hire.
- Current PA-PCHA license preferred but not required.
