Compliance Specialist
Position Summary
The Compliance Specialist serves as the liaison between the Safe Environment Office in the Office for the Protection of Children & Youth (OPCY) and local Site Administrators in parishes and schools. The Compliance Specialist supports Site Administrators on a daily basis and reviews OPCY audit submissions on an annual basis.
Essential Position Functions
- Provides one-on-one support to Site Administrators throughout the year.
- Conduct virtual and on-site compliance audits.
- Follow-up with and assist pastors, principals, and site administrators.
- Review all audit submissions and document findings.
- Answer phone calls and emails from Site Administrators and others and respond to compliance inquiries and database questions.
- Provide support during annual audit data collection and help with organization of the data and compliance materials.
- Aid in preparing data reports to be used for the annual USCCB audit.
- Comply with all civil reporting requirements related to the abuse or neglect of a minor and cooperate with public authority figures.
- Report to Safe Environment Director all compliance issues at parishes and schools.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with an ability to proofread.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Develop proficiency in using existing OPCY databases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable analyzing data.
- Ability to work independently and as a team with others in OPCY and archdiocesan departments and organizations.
- Ability to create and maintain supportive relationships with parishes and schools site administrators.
- Ability to travel long distances in own vehicle to Vicariate offices, parishes and schools in the Archdiocese.
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in compliance, auditing, child safety, education, or related field.

This position has an annualized salary range of $53,446.00 - $65,472.00. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
