Responsibilities
- Review internal controls and evaluate adherence to consumer laws and regulations.
- Perform testing at appropriate intervals for compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and assess adequacy of policies, procedures, and controls.
- Maintain monitoring of Bank departments for compliance with applicable laws and regulations and adequacy of internal controls.
- Prepare comprehensive, accurate written reports summarizing adherence with consumer compliance laws and regulations, demonstrating strong written communication skills.
- Report written reports to the Bank's Compliance Officer and affected management personnel, and implement corrective action as needed.
- Conduct appropriate research to provide sound, well-reasoned compliance advice and support in interpreting regulations and the Bank's policies and procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of consumer compliance regulations and monitor regulatory revisions, forwarding summaries of all revisions to the Compliance Officer.
- Assist in reviewing Bank's policies and procedures based on regulatory changes, internal audits, and examinations by regulatory agencies.
- Affirm compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for new Bank products.
- Communicate with the Compliance Officer for inclusion in compliance risk assessments.
- Aid in the development and deployment of training and oversight programs regarding Compliance laws for all employees and the Board of Directors, including the creation, design, development, and implementation of a technology-based compliance solution for bank operations.
- Review and approve compliance and business documents prior to implementation in coordination with the Compliance Officer.
- Aid in internal audit and regulatory examinations, ensuring findings are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.
- Create, design, develop, and implement tools and procedures to ensure adequate monitoring processes are established to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including regulatory revisions, in coordination with the Compliance Officer.
- Attend various project and committee meetings to provide the compliance perspective on issues discussed.
- Ensure that Compliance Department policies and procedures are revised as necessary.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of consumer compliance regulations and ability to interpret regulations and Bank's policies and procedures.
Excellent written communication skills.
Ability to conduct thorough research and provide sound, well-reasoned compliance advice.
Knowledgeable about regulatory changes and internal audits.
Experience in developing and deploying training and oversight programs.
Proficiency in creating, designing, developing, and implementing tools and procedures for compliance monitoring.
