Responsibilities
- Review and approve resident certifications/recertifications for accuracy, compliance, and completeness.
- Support property teams with file corrections, compliance questions, and documentation standards.
- Monitor compliance with all applicable affordable housing regulations, including LIHTC, HUD, PFC, HFC, HUD HOME, and BOND program rules.
- Aid with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to file review findings.
- Track key compliance deadlines and ensure timely submission of reports to housing agencies and investors.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date records in property management systems.
- Conduct quality control file reviews to identify and resolve potential compliance issues.
- Conduct on-site visits regularly and document all observations identified.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Director to develop and implement file review process, property regulatory documents, training materials, and best-practice tools.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in affordable housing compliance (LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state affordable housing requirements and Fair Housing laws.
- Proficiency in reviewing and processing certifications and resident files.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex compliance requirements in plain language.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and property management software (OneSite, Yardi, or equivalent).
- Industry certification preferred (HCCP, COS, TCS, or similar).
