Compliance Director/Associate General Counsel (Fairbanks, AK)
Qualifications
**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice law in the State of Alaska
- Minimum 10-years professional level experience in compliance management, personnel law, human resources, employment law, labor relations or related field
- Minimum 2-years direct supervisor experience
**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:**
- Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)
- Experience & knowledge of personnel, labor, and employee relations matters
- Experience & knowledge of in-house client legal services

Responsibilities
Compliance/Risk Management
- Promote Doyon's culture of integrity that encourages ethical conduct
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for Doyon's compliance program
- Direct and manage compliance activities related ethics, conflict of interest, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with business leaders to identify, assess and prioritize compliance risks and develop recommendations for risk reduction
- Design, implement, and maintain, policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, contractual and regulatory requirements
- Prepare appropriate policy and process changes to ensure compliance with the law and contract requirements
- Collaborate with other departments (Legal, Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology) to direct compliance issues to appropriate channels for investigation and resolution
- Conduct compliance audits, assessments, and monitoring activities across Doyon and its subsidiaries
- Develop, implement, and oversee compliance communication, education and training program
Associate General Counsel
- Provide legal advice, guidance, and consultation to internal clients on personnel, human relations, labor relations, employment, and other corporate matters
- Balance legal services responsibilities with compliance program leadership and oversight
Records Management
- Direct and Oversee Doyon's Corporate Records Management program
- Supervise records management employees
- Provide records management guidance and support to subsidiary human resources departments
General
- Develop and manage compliance budget
- Singing authority for department expenditures
- Direct, supervise, mentor and evaluate legal administrative staff
- Other duties as assigned
- Occasional travel is required
