Summary

The Technician will unpack and sort returned products, investigate customer complaints regarding blood glucose meters, strips, and sensors, and document findings in the Complaint Handling System. The role involves using troubleshooting equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes, test fixtures, and microscopes, as well as performing routine maintenance on quality records and ensuring testing equipment remains valid.

Responsibilities

  • Unpack boxes safely and sort returned products accordingly by product lines.
  • Investigate returned products to resolve customer complaints regarding blood glucose meters, strips, and sensors.
  • Document complaint investigations in the Complaint Handling System.
  • Use troubleshooting equipment like multi-meters, oscilloscopes, test fixtures, and microscopes to complete investigations.
  • Perform routine maintenance on individual quality records and ensure equipment used for testing is within validity.
  • Perform routine testing (physical, chemical, or functional) on product returned from the field due to a customer complaint, using a variety of lab equipment.
  • Summarize and record all test data and maintain proper documentation of all lab work.
  • Process customer returns in a timely manner in accordance with ISO and FDA QS Reg.
  • Support company goal for timeliness of complaint investigations and closures.

Requirements

  • Proficient computer skills to navigate Internet programs used, basic Microsoft Office skills, and ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions of SOPs is required.
  • Good documentation skills are a must.
  • Good computer skills are essential, since data entry of investigation results is a primary part of the job.
  • Ability to focus while performing repetitive and routine investigations is a must.
  • Must have good written and oral communications skills.
  • Minimum education required is H.S. Diploma or equivalent (such as GED) with Technical experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Medical Device / Biotech Industry with a Technical Background is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Troubleshooting is preferred.
  • Ability to work in a team setting is a plus.
  • Great fit for workers with Inspection and Quality experience.
  • An Associates (Two year) degree in Electrical Engineering or other Science may be considered.
  • Recent college graduates with a Bachelor's degree are an ideal fit for this entry level position.

Pay & Schedule

  • Location: Alameda, CA
  • Duration: 7 Months
  • Shifts: 5AM TO 1:30PM
  • 100% Onsite
