About the role

The Community Standards Coordinator supports the enforcement of the Association’s governing documents, including CC&Rs, Design Guidelines, Rules and Regulations, and applicable California Civil Code. Key responsibilities include enforcing policies, reviewing compliance, coordinating committees, and maintaining detailed records.

Responsibilities

  • Support the fair, consistent, and professional enforcement of HOA governing documents, community rules, and architectural standards.
  • Review, document, and track compliance violations from initiation through resolution.
  • Process Architectural Review applications and maintain accurate records.
  • Cookinate Compliance Committee and Architectural Review Committee meetings, including agenda preparation, posting requirements, and meeting minutes.
  • Communicate with homeowners regarding compliance matters, architectural applications, violations, and policy interpretations.
  • Maintain detailed databases and prepare reports related to compliance and architectural review activities.
  • Assist with homeowner appeals while ensuring decisions are supported by documented facts and established policies.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve complex community standards issues.
  • Recommend improvements to community standards processes and administrative procedures.
  • Provide courteous, professional customer service while handling sensitive or challenging situations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five or more years of administrative experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
  • Outstanding customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems.
  • Ability to interpret and consistently apply policies, procedures, and governing documents.
  • Professionalism, sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a homeowners association, municipal code enforcement, compliance, or architectural review environment is highly desirable.
