Community Services Worker (HELP Program) - Cortland County DSS

About the role

The work involves responsibility for performing staff support services relating to determining financial eligibility for the various programs administered by the Department of Social Services, as well as transporting clients to visitations and appointments. The work is performed under general supervision of a higher level supervisor. Does related work as required.

Responsibilities

• Enter various program information in the Welfare Management Computer System
• Meet with individuals to answer any questions they may have regarding benefits processing
• Transport clients to visitations and appointments
• Complete other related staff support duties related to the eligibility determination program
• Perform other related clerical duties including scheduling appointments and case filing

Minimum Qualifications

• Possession of a high school diploma or equivalency diploma
• Pre-employment screenings required
