About the role

We are looking for a Community Marketing Manager who will build a community of affiliates, creators, and patient advocates that finds undiagnosed patients and gets them genetic testing.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, recruit, and manage relationships with health and rare disease content creators, briefing and publishing UGC content that drives awareness among undiagnosed patient communities
  • Recruit and activate a network of patient advocates and community champions who refer others to genetic testing
  • Turn our existing patient community into a referral engine, building the program infrastructure, incentives, and outreach that keeps them engaged and referring
  • Develop strategic relationships with patient advocacy groups and foundations and find creative ways to partner with them to get more patients to genetic testing
  • Own Probably Genetic's organic social presence. Create and post content that educates patients, builds community, and earns trust in the rare disease space
  • Capture authentic patient stories, working sensitively with patients to share their diagnostic journey, then publishing them across our website, social channels, and partner networks to reach others who may still be undiagnosed

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in community marketing, influencer partnerships, affiliate marketing, or social media
  • A natural relationship builder who earns trust quickly across very different people; creators, patient advocates, and rare disease patients all feel like you get them
  • A strong storyteller with an instinct for what content hits; you can communicate a mission compellingly, draw out authentic patient stories, and know what will resonate on social before you post it
  • A highly organized with a proven ability to manage many relationships and workstreams simultaneously without things slipping
  • Able to move fast, figure things out, and not wait for a playbook to exist before taking action
  • Genuine empathy for patients navigating the rare disease journey, and a belief in the mission that comes through in every conversation and piece of content you create

Qualifications

  • Healthcare, genetics, or rare disease industry or personal experience is not required, but you will learn on the job
  • Experience working at an early-stage startup is not required, but you will learn on the job

Skills

  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships and workstreams simultaneously
  • Strong storytelling and content creation skills
  • Ability to build and manage a community of influencers and patient advocates
  • Experience with social media management and content creation

Pay

The salary range for this role is $95k-$120k annually. Actual compensation offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to: work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs.
