Community Consultant

About the role

AvalonBay Communities, Inc., an equity REIT, seeks a dedicated and highly organized Leasing Consultant to join its innovative and passionate team. This role involves managing the daily operations of the leasing team at one of our apartment communities, ensuring residents experience luxury living.

Responsibilities

• Create customized tours for prospective residents, focusing on their individual preferences.
• Follow up with leads to ensure residents feel cared for and informed about their new home.
• Work Saturdays to handle high traffic during weekends, engaging with potential residents.
• Build strong relationships with both residents and colleagues, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.
• Use sales and marketing skills to generate excitement and enthusiasm for AvalonBay among prospective residents.
• Utilize property management software and Microsoft Office Suite to efficiently manage leasing tasks.
• Understand and comply with fair housing laws and regulations.
• Work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• 1-2 years of experience in a leasing or customer service role, preferably in the real estate or property management industry.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using property management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
