About the role
The Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE) role at AWS involves overseeing the testing and validation of electrical and mechanical infrastructure in data centers. You will work with a diverse team of engineers and specialists to ensure construction quality meets customer requirements. The position requires collaboration across various teams to deliver high standards of safety and security while managing project budgets. This role offers the opportunity to tackle complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure.
- Review design documents and equipment submittals.
- Lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT) and manage third-party commissioning vendors.
- Audit commissioning vendors' activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.
- Regularly report commissioning progress and metrics to the Regional Commissioning Manager.
- Coordinate site activities and prioritize tasks across AWS engineering, capacity delivery, operations, and contractor teams.
- Communicate lessons learned to help peers on similar projects and participate in initiatives that drive improvement.
Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering, installation, or startup/commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- NETA or ASHRAE certification or commissioning specific education courses.
- Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
- Knowledge of commercial or industrial power systems or mechanical systems.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
- Experience using a variety of web-based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.

Pay
$96,600 - $160,000 per year
