Interdisciplinary Systems Engineer, AWS Ground Station

About the role

At AWS Ground Station, we are transforming how the industry operates in space by enabling customers to connect to their on-orbit spacecraft in an on-demand model leveraging AWS network and infrastructure. We are expanding our satellite ground station capabilities and seek an engineer to deeply own the technical challenges of delivering highly reliable space data into the AWS cloud.

Responsibilities

• Work with vendors and AWS engineering teams to discover and implement the latest technologies.
• Deeply own the deployment, operation, and maintenance of antenna systems around the world.
• Identify gaps in functionality or capabilities and create solutions to solve them.
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure customer needs are met.
• Educate peers through mentorship and coaching to create lasting positive impact.

Requirements

• Embrace continuous learning and work to eliminate knowledge gaps in relevant areas.
• Experience working in hardware-centric production environments.
• Comfortable handling ambiguity and creating solutions to resolve it.
• Recognize and appreciate diversity of thought and perspectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years experience supporting highly available environments, both locally and in the cloud.
• Experience across all aspects of satellite ground processing, networks, and radio frequency spectrum.
• Experience deploying and operating a worldwide network of fully-articulating ground station antennas operating in S and X Bands.

Skills

• Experience with satellite communications ground systems and operations.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $129,200.00 - $174,800.00 USD annually.
