Commercial Sales Engineer
About the Role
This dynamic role requires an individual to drive commercial growth and achieve sales goals across the territory of Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Key responsibilities include overseeing all commercial opportunities, ensuring monthly and yearly sales targets are met, and managing the diverse needs of engineers, contractors, and wholesalers to deliver outstanding customer experience. This role involves collaborating closely within a six-person team and serving as the crucial conduit between the field and internal teams (Tech Support and Product Management) to convey vital product information and market feedback.
Responsibilities
- Engage with engineers in territory to win specifications and make Viessmann the basis of design.
- Quote prospective opportunities and follow the opportunity through to the sale.
- Meet with Mechanical Contractors to ensure equipment is installed to specification and assist with any questions they may have.
- Build relationships with distributors to ensure product availability in territory.
- Conduct Lunch and Learns with engineering firms to build product knowledge and improve engineering relationships.
- Travel (60%) minimum in assigned territory as required.
- Report on a weekly basis on the status and development of Viessmann product sales in territory.
- Participate in the annual Viessmann Sales Representative meetings as well as in Viessmann product information seminars to assure a professional technical presentation of Viessmann products to the customers.
- In addition to the duties listed, the position may require extraordinary and additional tasks during the course of the business year.
Required Qualifications
- High school or GED.
- 3+ years of Hydronic Heating or Commercial HVAC industry experience.
- 3+ Years experience selling commercial projects.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Up to 60% regional day travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Candidates with experience regarding Viessmann products will be preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, creative and systematic working habits, self-starter.
- In depth understanding of hydronic heating systems and their application.
- Understanding of heat pump technology and how it is applied.
- Competency with Microsoft software.
- Excellent interpersonal, language, and communication skills.
Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $64,500.00 - $129,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
