Job Summary

The Commercial Sales Engineer works as a technical sales consultant to engineers, architects, contractors, and owners/developers. This role involves contacting and calling on these key decision-makers to achieve annual sales and gross margin goals. The position also includes conducting sales, design, and application training, creating proposals, and participating in trade organizations and events.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contact and call on consulting engineers, mechanical contractors, architects, and owners to achieve annual sales and gross margin goals
  • Conduct sales, design, and application training to above reference key decision makers
  • Work with specifying engineers and design-build contractors to help specify CE products
  • Create new business through organized prospecting and increase our share of business from assigned territory
  • Conduct take-offs of plans and specifications; develop and price estimates, write the proposal and bid jobs
  • Participate in local and regional trade organizations and trade shows
  • Provide and/or coordinate technical and product training to customers

Requirements

  • 5+ years of proven technical sales, HVAC sales experience
  • A solid understanding of HVAC principles
  • Verifiable experience with specified products
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficient with a PC and Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with CRM/Database tools

Qualifications

  • Experience working with contractors is desired
  • Solid problem-solving abilities with the competence to make recommendations
