About the role

Mutual Inspection Bureau, Inc. (MIB) is seeking experienced Commercial Lines & Personal Lines Insurance Underwriting Surveyors as independent contractors. The ideal candidate will perform on-site inspections on residential, commercial, and agricultural properties.

Responsibilities

• Assess conditions on inspected properties
• Identify hazards that may lead to claims activity
• Gather data to assist insurance companies in establishing replacement cost values
• Communicate effectively with clients and community members
• Work independently and manage their own schedule

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of home construction materials and methods
• Previous inspection experience helpful
• A PC, internet access, and digital camera are required

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Reliable and organized
• Capable of meeting and conversing with people in the community

Skills

• Microsoft programs/Word proficiency
