About the role

Mutual Inspection Bureau, Inc. (MIB) is seeking experienced Commercial Lines & Personal Lines Insurance Underwriting Surveyors as independent contractors. The position involves conducting on-site inspections of residential, commercial, and agricultural properties to assess conditions, identify hazards, and gather data for insurance companies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections of residential, commercial, and agricultural properties
• Audit and assess property conditions
• Identify potential hazards that could lead to claims activity
• Gather data to assist insurance companies in determining replacement cost values
• Communicate effectively with clients and community members
• Work independently and manage time effectively

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of home construction materials and methods
• Previous inspection experience is helpful
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Reliable and organized
• Self-motivated
• Access to a PC, internet, and digital camera

Qualifications

• Experience in insurance underwriting is preferred but not required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word is required
