Commercial Production Intern

About the role
Internships are available for qualified students studying broadcast journalism, communication degrees, creative services/marketing, business, and engineering. This posting is for one internship position in Sales/Commercial Production. The internship is well-supervised and designed to provide a meaningful learning experience. Interns will adhere to Nexstar's zero-tolerance guidelines and maintain professional conduct. Upon completion, students will be evaluated as required by their college program.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lifestyle team with lighting and camera position set-up and break-down during segment shoots.
- Assist the Lifestyle Team in downloading and ingesting footage from shoots into editing software.
- Assist the team during the editing phase by chopping up interviews into smaller segments to speed up staff editing time.
- Review nearly-finalized segments as an extra set of eyes to catch glaring mistakes (e.g., misspellings, missed jump-cuts).
- Assist with commercial production when time permits and an extra set of hands or eyes is needed.
Requirements
- Must be a senior in their last year of concentrated post-high school study.
- Advanced skill level due to the complexity of projects.
- A collaborative worker with a willingness to learn.
