About the role

At Janicki Industries, we turn complex ideas into real-world solutions through advanced engineering and manufacturing. Our teams design and build innovative structures, tooling, and systems that support industries including aerospace, space, defense, marine, and architecture. This position is located in Hamilton, Sedro Woolley, and Bellingham in Washington State.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of basic engineering principles to solve complex technical problems working with a team of engineers
  • Manage small projects from preliminary design through detail engineering, manufacturing, assembly and commissioning in production
  • Work independently and efficiently with excellent organizational skills and a high level of clerical procedures
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately; use good judgment as to what to communicate to whom as well as the best way to get that accomplished; speak in a clear and credible manner, selecting the right tone for the situation and audience; listen to others and allow them to make their point
  • Recognize opportunities and initiate actions to capitalize on them; look for new and productive ways to make an impact; demonstrate this characteristic when it comes to generating new ideas or processes, seeking out and taking on increasing responsibility or resolving problems as they occur; use sound judgment about when to take action and when to seek guidance or permission
  • Complete assignments given by the respective assigned mentor
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Previous internship experience preferred
  • Preference for candidates at sophomore or junior standing
  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
  • Must be enrolled in an ABET accredited college or university degree engineering program
  • Must be able to work well in an integrated, multidisciplinary, collaborative, team environment, including daily interactions with technicians, millwrights, machinists, engineers, and managers
  • Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Must be able to work well independently and under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Must possess effective oral and written communication skills in the English language
